Hello Friends,

Recently, I got a chance to go to CES 2024 in Las Vegas, and it was an amazing and thrilling experience as a designer. Every corner unveiled a new surprise with the latest and greatest technology. From groundbreaking displays to futuristic vehicles, this year's CES, just like in previous years, was not just a tech showcase; it's always a playground for any designer's imagination.

And let me tell you, I was like a kid in a candy store! :)

Alright, let's jump into the cool stuff from CES 2024. Of course, there were many, but I tried limiting myself to my top 6 picks from the event, whether based on functional innovation or visual aesthetics. These are the kind of things that make you stop and go, 'Wow, that's pretty awesome.' From TVs that you can see through to cars that feel like they're from the next century, these are my picks from CES 2024:

1- LG's Transparent OLED TV

Let's start with a standout: LG's transparent OLED TV. Here's a display that vanishes into your décor when turned off, redefining the TV's role in interior design. Its wireless tech nudges us to rethink how we integrate tech with our living spaces, offering a glimpse into a future where technology and interior design seamlessly converge.

This 77-inch transparent wonder is not just a television but a living art piece. With its wireless design, it challenges the traditional concept of a TV as a room's focal point, allowing for an uncluttered, fluid space. The possibilities it opens up for interior design are just mind-blowing.

2- AX Visio by Swarovski

Swarovski Optik unveiled the AX Visio, revolutionizing the world of binoculars. These aren't your regular binoculars; they're smart. Imagine identifying over 11,000 species of birds and wildlife with a touch of a button. This breakthrough blends high-end optics with AI, taking nature observation to a whole new level.

Designed by Marc Newson, the AX Visio is both sleek and functional. It's lightweight and packed with a high-definition camera, allowing you to capture and share your outdoor adventures instantly. The smart tech inside helps guide your nature explorations with precision and ease.

3- Hyundai's Electric Excavators and AI

Hyundai's electric excavators, enhanced with AI technology, felt like something straight out of a Star Wars movie. These machines represent a significant advancement in construction technology. Merging eco-friendly electric power with AI's precision paves the way for a more efficient, sustainable future in construction.

The AI integration in these excavators enables advanced functionality, like precision digging and real-time data analysis, transforming industry standards for safety, efficiency, and environmental impact. This innovative leap shows Hyundai's commitment to integrating technology with environmental responsibility.

I really appreciate how good these look!

4- Hyundai Mobis’ e-Corner System

Another game-changer was Hyundai Mobis’ e-Corner system. It's not just an advancement; it's a revolution in automotive design if we see it hit the market soon. The system allows for unprecedented maneuverability in vehicles. As a designer, I couldn’t help but be fascinated by how such innovations can transform our approach to transportation and urban design. I had already seen videos of these emerge a few months ago, but it was great to see it in person!

5- C Seed Foldable TV Screens

Another great one for TV's! C Seed's unveiling of their N1 TV redefines the concept of home entertainment. This 137-inch unfolding MicroLED display is not just a television but an elegant addition to modern living spaces. When inactive, it's a sleek piece of furniture; activated, it transforms into a large, vivid screen.

The N1's unfolding mechanism is what really caught my eye; changing from a compact base to a full-size TV takes less than a minute and a half, and the seams and lines of the folds totally disappear once it unfolds into a normal TV; that's amazing!

6- LG Pebble Flow RV

The LG Pebble Flow RV presents a modern take on mobile living, combining sleek design with practical functionality. Its interior, spacious enough for families, features a mix of clean white and warm woodsy accents. The RV's highlight is its versatile kitchen, complete with a full-size fridge and an induction range that can be used both inside and out.

Technologically advanced, the Pebble Flow integrates smart controls to manage its features easily. The RV has a 45kWh battery and solar panels, supporting off-grid living. It also offers a convertible space in the rear, serving as a cozy bedroom and an efficient workspace.

As my journey at CES 2024 came to a close, I couldn't help but feel a surge of inspiration. The variety of products, from the visually stunning, whether it was in automotive, home appliances, lifestyle, or any other industry. These were just a few of many amazing products that highlighted the limitless possibilities of design and technology. Events like these remind us of our role as designers – not just to create but to inspire, push boundaries, and envision a future where design and technology coexist in harmony.

So, what are your thoughts on these innovations? And what were your favorites? I would love to hear your thoughts and perspectives.

And as always...

Dream Big!

Here are some style frames from a project I worked on lately for Huawei, exploring soft, see-through petal structures that change in color through motion. This was a series done for their phone wallpapers.

Let's work together in 2024 and create some exciting projects.
